Ninjutsu-Ryu and other Bujutsu-Ryu
At the flowering period of Ninjutsu in ancient fuedal Japan there were far more than 70
different Ryu (styles). Many were forgotten or the scrolls which identified
somebody as head of the Ryu were destroyed if no qualified successor was
found. Often you find some of the same techniques in other Bujutsu-Ryu.
Many of them are very old (Koryu), others were found in more recent times.
Togakure Ryu Ninjutsu, Gyokushin Ryu Ninpo and Kumogakure Ryu Ninpo are
three of the authentic traditional Ninjutsu Ryu which are taught today
by grandmaster Dr. Masaaki Hatsumi.Other Ryu can only be found in museums. Some of the more famous Ryu are
written here. Don't take all the information for granted. Find a good and real teacher
and check out the authenticity of the Ryu and their qualifications.
